Colocation Data Center, Disaster Recovery Services, and SEO - Fast PC Networks
With the google big daddy update traffic has really picked up and I’m seeing most of my traffic coming from organic google results. I noticed my homepage was text heavy and did not really have a data center picture except for the header so I added a wide open floor space shot to give the page a bit more relevance. It is hard to sell 2 services on one page; I’m not sure how well this will convert if they land on the home page. I may have to convert the home page to an internet consulting page and land relevant clients to their relevant inside pages.
The three areas that I would like to focus on this year are colocation, SEO, and spam filtering services. The spam filter has become such a commodity item that I’m practically giving it away. Colocation is a commodity but solutions grow and there are managed services. If costs are controlled it can be profitable, but it is very competitive. SEO is a lot of fun for me to do but I can not afford to give it away, there is a lot of time involved that clients don’t seem to want to pay for. They just want to give you $500 and be #1 and make tens of thousand of dollars, if it were only that simple. Once you understand that there are no short cuts you will see how simple it is. There is plenty of upfront work to do building the site, content, and link building. Once you have a site that generates clients and sales leads it is well worth the effort. Eventually you will have an automated machine that you will have to maintain but it will take less effort over time.
